Well if you weren't there, I'm afraid you missed it this year. On Friday the 26th, at the Sutter Creek Auditorium the room was filled, over and over with reverb and some awesome melodies. Our entire family came to the event and we all enjoyed it from one year of age to...well you know, "old enough to know good music when we hear it". I just want to post this as a shout out, and hopefully a word of encouragement to anyone local enough to join next year. if you see the words, "Amadorfest" plan on attending!
This entire event is a fundraiser for the Amador High music students. They also hope the event will promote accessibility for the younger musicians to rub shoulders with a more seasoned crowd. Along with the bands they had a fun guitar "shred off" competition.
From the first sounds of Two3rdsdead our 1 year old clapped in appreciation. Apparently he's a fan of LOUD. My only qualm with this particular band is that they were so awesome that they gave our five year old a drum stick and now he likes to mimic them entirely. First he does some drum solos and then he completes the number by throwing his drumstick at the audience. I am the audience. Thank you Two3rdsdead.
Blow Daddy played and they the room hopping. Literally. Almost everyone was out of their chairs dancing, and the teens who were a bit too insecure to strut their moves like the 'more mature' audience formed a train that wrapped around the entire auditorium. I literally can't wait to see these guys in concert next month! It struck me as we listened and danced and as I watched Lucy dancing on her daddies feet because he needed a break from swinging her wildly around, the hours and hours of practice these people put into bringing us such joy. We all start out as baby musicians no matter what age we pick up our instruments and we grow from there. I'm thankful some people get the music bug so bad that they keep at it, year after year, to put such richness into life around us. Without their skill, our life would be much blander. So thanks for playing guys!
Actual reviews from attenders:

Seriously, next year, come! Bring the family and any friends you know. Support our youth and local musicians! Build up the future.
